Does it sometimes feel like you’re walking on top of the waters of your life, but at other times it feels like you’re sinking? Welcome!!

The Monks of the Weston Priory sing a poetic and moving song titled “Journeys Ended, Journeys Begun” about experiencing healing from our mistakes, about receiving forgiveness, and about healing from the mistakes of others as we forgive, at least that’s how I interpret it. It’s a song from their 1977 album, “Spirit Alive: Songs of the Healing Spirit.” The three main verses of the song are about trusting God, believing we are not alone, and realizing that loving others as Jesus loves us means choosing to go “beyond self” over and over again, and although that can be like dying many deaths, we rise alive and whole. Here is the refrain which repeats after every verse:
“Journeys ended, journeys begun: to go where we have never been, to be beyond our past,
moments of lifting up, transcending death, rising in transparent light, to the fullness of God’s presence.“
